KEARNEY — During the week of April 7–14, deputies with the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office participated in a traffic enforcement campaign focused on distracted driving, funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
Distracted driving doesn’t just lead to tickets—it leads to tragedies. Whether it’s a text, a notification, or a quick scroll, looking away from the road for even a few seconds can change lives forever.
Our goal: fewer distracted drivers, fewer serious crashes, and a safer Buffalo County.
Contacts included 69 traffic contacts, nine citations issued, 60 warnings/defect cards, one speed contests stopped, one careless driving citation.
We’re committed to keeping our roads safe. Let’s all do our part—eyes up, phones down.
