You know how life is like a roller coaster? Well, life happens. We get older. Family spreads out and people get sick. We all are on the clock until it’s time to say farewell. This past Saturday I watched my childhood go on the auction block. It’s so much work and a lot of man hours setting everything out on display in person and online. I felt like my underwear drawer was open, in a way. So many of my family and friends came out to support and even bid on the items. This picture above is my cousin Nona Schroll. All she wanted was this grocery bag holder that was my mother’s and some pears from my late father’s pear tree out in the orchard. I cannot tell you how much it meant to have all of the towns folk and surrounding area’s being there. Most importantly, the money we made goes towards my beautiful mother’s living expenses. She’s in a beautiful place now and it’s a five minute walk from my home. I believe my Dad and my late Aunt Val were watching over us all that day, too. I felt the love from everyone. A lot of hugs, a few tears and now a new local family will make their dreams and future in good old Rockville, Nebraska. God bless.
