After receiving a donation of dozens of Little Golden Books right around the 80th anniversary of the start of their publication, a display of Little Golden Books is at the Grand Island Public Library through May 2.

The exhibit is part of the Go Big Give event for the Grand Island Public Library Foundation, said Foundation Director Leigh Lillibridge.
In addition to the exhibit of Little Golden Books, Little Golden Books are being sold for $1 each.

First published in 1942, Little Golden Books have been a treasure in children’s literature and have captivated young readers with their colorful illustrations and stories. The display began on April 20.

Little Golden Books are known for their unique format and design, because they are small in size, making them easy for young children to hold. The iconic gold foil spine and colorful cover art have become synonymous with the brand.

On Go Big Give day on May 2, the Library Foundation will have a used book sale. The food truck “Hit the Spot” will be in the library parking lot from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2. A portion of sales from the food truck sales will be donated to the library foundation.
