KEARNEY BASKETBALL BLASTS BEARS; HEAD TO LINCOLN NORTHEAST:
The Kearney High basketball teams handled their business at home, blasting the Omaha Bryan Girls 66-3 while the boys won over the Top-Ten rated boys 66-50.

The stretch continues this afternoon, as the Bearcats head to Lincoln Northeast for a doubleheader tilt with the Rockets. Tip-off for the girls contest is set for 2 PM with KGFW’s pregame starting at 1:45 PM. The boys game will follow the contest.

STATE WRESTLING DUALS BEGIN AT FAIRGROUNDS:
The Buffalo County Fairgrounds will be busy with statewide wrestlers entering Kearney for their chance to claim the State Duals title today.
All action begins with the Classes B & C quarterfinal wrestling beginning at 9 AM, as the Class A & D quarterfinals start at 10:30 AM.
The first round winners will advance to the semi-finals with the first-round losing teams competing in the consolation bracket. The consolation bracket will be wrestled out for 5th and 6th places. Second round winners in the consolation round will advance to the 5th place dual. Semi-final winners will advance to the finals with semi-final losers competing against each other for 3rd place.

FKC CHAMPIONSHIPS SET AT KEARNEY HIGH SCHOOL TONIGHT:
The Fort Kearny Championship games are now set, with action beginning for third place games at Kearney High School later this afternoon with the title matchups to follow.
For the girls contest, No. 1 Overton will matchup against No. 2 SEM. Wilcox-Hildreth and Elm Creek will play in the third place game later this afternoon. The girls championship contest is set for a 6 PM start.
Last night, the boys wrapped their semifinals at Kearney Catholic High School. No. 5 SEM upset top-seeded Amherst 44-39 to advance to the championship, while No. 3 Ansley-Litchfield took down No. 2 Elm Creek 52-35. The Mustangs and Spartans will have their tip-off around 8 PM tonight.

STORM FALL AT HOME TO DES MOINES:
The Tri-City Storm dropped a 5-2 home decision Friday night at the Viaero Center to the Des Moines Buccaneers to open play in a three-game weekend. Luke Posthumus and Dallas Vieau scored for Tri-City in the loss.
The Storm returns to action tonight in another home game against the Buccaneers. Puck drops at 6:05pm CT.
