Scammers are everywhere and ALWAYS tryin’ to access your everything. You have to be vigilant and be very careful of everything (how’s that for a blanket statement). In one split-second moment of weakness you can get taken for a ride (or not a bike ride in my case).
I saw a beautiful electric who knows-how-many-speeds bike for sale on-line and it was only 99 dollars. Comes in a multitude of colors with big fat tires so cool that it is imperative you refer to them as ‘Tars’. “Big-Fat-TARS.”
I excitedly got caught up in my own moment and in one momentary lapse of reason whipped out my wallet and spent 99 dollars from my checking account online. WHAT??? Yeah, I did that and almost immediately knew it was a mistake because electric bikes cost waaaay more than ninety-nine dollars AND I could no longer find the site I just ordered from… But this bike looked soooo cool!
Seriously pay close attention to and respect the feelings you have in your gut. They’re there to protect you. When you feel as though a deal is way too good to be true, it most likely is. You must question it from all angles.
Unnecessarily long story-short: I immediately contacted my bank and reported fraud and after a lengthy investigation/inquiry, my account was credited the 99 shmackers. Thank you Wells Fargo! Where did the money come from? Did insurance cover it? Did we intercede before funds were actually transferred? Who Cares. I got my money back.
In Summary: Beware don’t Bedumb…
(that should be a bumper steeker that I sell and become rich).
