KEARNEY — An accident between a semi-tralier and a van took place east of Kearney during the morning hours of Monday, Dec. 15.
At 7:32 a.m., the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department and Good Samaritan EMS were dispatched to mile marker 273 on Interstate 80 for the report of a multiple vehicle accident, with one possibly on fire.
On scene, a minivan with heavy front-end damage had come to rest in the median, while a semi-tralier had rolled on its side in the north ditch near the westbound lane.
No active fire was reported at the scene and KVFD was able to leave the scene.
Traffic was slowed around the accident, with the left lane being opened to traffic to pass the accident scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
