107.7 The Island - Real Music Variety

Arrival time should be between 10:30 and 10:45 so that everyone is in place by 11:00.  The military detail will arrive around 10:00 to practice their part in the ceremony.

The United Veterans Honor Guard will be posting the colors and providing the 21 gun salute and taps as part of the formal flag folding part of the ceremony.

It will be very cold that day.  Tyler, please try to convince your DC Diplomats to dress appropriately. Heavy socks, boots, mittens, scarves, heavy coats.  They will be outside for at least an hour and a half.  We don’t want any hypothermia.  Parents who are not staying should return no later that 12:00 for pickup.

Randy has agreed to open the large gate on the west side of the cemetery on Webb Road.  Parents who are staying can park in the grass along Webb Road outside of the cemetery.  Do not drive into the cemetery.

Patriot Guard:  We would like you to line up  inside of the shelter about 7 feet from the military personnel and the tables to create a dividing line for the personnel and

Public space.  I will explain once you arrive.

A reminder that parking inside the cemetery is on the roadway only.  No parking on the grass.  We will walk from the shelter to the historical part of the cemetery to lay the wreaths.  The truck will be parked on the roadway in the cemetery and there will be people from GI Express at the truck ready to hand out wreaths.  We will not be setting the boxes throughout the cemetery this year.

If you have questions about anything, please let me know.  As this is our inaugural  year of using the shelter, we are still in a learning stage.

Captain Elliott did not feel that police presence was necessary as the truck is inside the cemetery.
