LEXINGTON — A new Jimmy John’s drive-thru location will be coming to the Lexington community in mid-November.
Construction at the site has been ongoing with the building structure being added to the site on Friday, Oct. 17. The new Jimmy John’s will be located at 1307 Plum Creek Parkway, in the new developments along Cutler Dr.
Alarado Enterprises LLC, of Holdrege, is behind the project and operates the Jimmy John’s franchise in the community.
A representative from Alarado said they are looking forward to operating in the Lexington community and have had positive experiences with the City of Lexington while planning to bring a Jimmy John’s franchise to the town.
The plan is for the location to open in early or mid-November.
It was noted this location will be a drive-thru location and offer delivery and pick-up. Once the weather warms up in the spring, patio seating will be added to the outside of the building.
There will be a focus on catering and the franchise is eager to do business with other businesses in the Lexington community and Dawson County area.
The Jimmy John’s chain has over 2,600 locations, with 98 percent of them being franchises.
Jimmy John’s has 17 different numbered sandwiches plus a B.L.T., called the J.J.B.L.T, and the Gargantuan, which includes all the meats except bacon and tuna.
The 17 sandwiches may have ham, roast beef, tuna, turkey, salami, capicola, bacon, provolone cheese or parmesan cheese, or combine two or more meats and cheese. Jimmy John’s has four flavors of chips, including regular, BBQ, jalapeño, and salt and vinegar.
The menu also includes kosher dill pickles as well as brownies and “triple chunk” chocolate and oatmeal raisin cookies.
