GRAND ISLAND — The popular Chick-fil-A restaurant will be opening in Grand Island.

“While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is happy to share that we are actively pursuing our first location in Grand Island. We look forward to working through the approval process and are excited by the prospect of joining this community, where each locally owned and operated restaurant creates 80 to120 jobs. We hope to have the opportunity to serve new guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality,” Chick-fil-A, Inc. wrote in an email.

“There are more than 10 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving Nebraska. More than 200,000 Team Members are employed by independent owner-operators in more than 3,000 restaurants across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico,” Newman said.

According to the company’s website, S. Truett Cathy founded Chick-fil-A in 1967.

Chick-fil-A has its headquarters in Atlanta. S. Truett Cathy’s grandson, Andrew, is the company’s CEO.
