Top sheet or no top sheet? While some people swear by a top sheet on the bed, there’s a growing trend of people – particularly young people – ditching the top sheet altogether and just using a fitted sheet and duvet cover over their comforter. So … is a top sheet a must, or do you not understand why people bother with one?
Oh Em Gee, does this dredge up memories of my childhood. Ha! I hated making my bed and was a slob teenager to add to my parents pain. However, making beds became a bit of an obsession of mine when I worked at the Ravenna Good Samaritan Nursing Home during my high school years. I was a cna back then and my mother was my charge nurse. She and the other nurses trained us back then. I learned how to make a proper hospital bed with those tight hospital corners.
Years later… I’m married, I have raised my kids (who were JUST like me when they were growing up),he’s a very tall man. I loved having my bed made up nice with lots of pillows, yada yada yada, and he could give to rusty nails if the bed is made or not, AND he hates pillows. Can you believe that?! lol. Long story short, or should I say, tall story short chick, my side of the bed is hospital cornered, his has to be pulled out free for his long legs and feet! Now, on occasion, he will make the bed and has put the top sheet on side ways and untucked. I go to get in bed and immediately I’m like, “What in the…” and then i get out of bed and make it THE RIGHT WAY. Am I crazy? Maybe just a little. Thanks for reading. Have a great day! ~ MidDay Renae
