Where to watch and stream A Charlie Brown Christmas in 2022:
On September 29, news broke that neither PBS nor PBS Kids will be airing the classic Peanuts specials, including It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
“Regretfully, PBS does not have the rights to distribute the Peanuts specials this year,” a tweet from the network read. This means that you probably won’t be able to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas on TV.
That said, A Charlie Brown Christmas is available to stream exclusively on Apple TV+ with a paid subscription ($6.99 a month) or a free seven-day trial. What’s more, Apple TV+ announced that it will allow everyone to watch the holiday special for free from December 22 to December 25.
But if you end up paying for a subscription, it’ll be well worth it because you’ll get the full Peanuts special experience with the latest addition, For Auld Lang Syne, which premiered in December 2021. The New Year’s Eve-themed movie is the perfect follow-up to A Charlie Brown Christmas, so you might as well block out a whole night to watch ’em back-to-back.
Is A Charlie Brown Christmas on Netflix, Hulu or Disney+?
The short answer is no. Back in 2020, Peanuts Worldwide signed a deal with Apple TV+, making it the exclusive streaming service for all Peanuts content, both new and old. That means you won’t be able to find A Charlie Brown Christmas (or any other Peanuts movie, for that matter) on Netflix, Disney+, Hulu or other streaming platforms. You can, however, pick up the DVD on Amazon, so you and your family can watch it whenever you want.
