When Ozark was fairly new on Netflix we watched every episode available with great fervor. When the show ended, coincidentally so did my relationship. Somewhat recently I got wind of a fourth season of Ozark on Netflix. Several thoughts raced through my head, one of which was, “Will I still care and be equally as drawn to this show as I once was?”
From past experience it seems sometimes our interest level drops or disappears when a wedge of time comes in between cliffhangers. For the life of me, I can’t fathom how we watched our favorite shows only once a week and one episode at a time -that sounds like sheer lunacy to me. In todays broadcast landscape I will purposely wait for a show to go into syndication so I can watch all that I want whenever I want.
For multiple weeks I was nonplussed by the idea of returning to Ozark as I wasn’t sure if I remembered where I left off and if I would still be engaged by it all so I started in the middle of season 3 and while I remembered some of the scenarios, it was a much needed refresher and YES, I found it as equally compelling as I did the first time and now excited at the fact that there’s a culminating season 4 to look forward to.
This show truly has it all for me. Great storyline(s) fantastic acting of such high caliber some of which I have never before seen in my life* (that’s a big deal) and plenty of F bombs. The anxiety level is rising and I can’t stop watching it. Great choice for Jason Bateman at this point in his career. There is not one weak performance. Although I am not quite finished with the final season yet, I highly recommend Ozark. I also recommend setting limits and strict bedtimes for yourself. I watched until 2am. My alarm goes off at 4…that’s 2 hours of sleep, ladies and gentlemen and that’s no where near enough sleep for anyone.
I go nap now.

*All of the performances in Ozark are stellar but the intensity and real emotion the actor who plays Ben puts forth is beyond compelling. His name is Tom Pelphrey… Thanks for reading my blog…Watch Ozark.
