A 17 year old teenager is in the hospital after a shooting at a Grand Island Walmart parking lot. According to Police, the shooting occurred around 2 am Saturday at the Grand Island Walmart. G.I. Police didn’t say the extent of the teens injuries or the gun used. The incident is still under investigation.

The Nebraska State Patrol says investigators believe a Broken Bow woman found dead in her home early Friday morning was killed by her ex-husband, who later killed himself. Police found the body of 45-year-old Angie Miller in her Broken Bow home just before 2 a.m. Friday and suspected her ex-husband, 47-year-old Ryan Miller of Anselmo, of killing her. Ryan Miller was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound about three hours later in an Anselmo pasture.

A former Tri-City Storm player is headed to trial. Paul Washe is charged with two counts of Third-Degree Sexual assault. The accuser, says that Washe raped her at an off campus party in December, while attending Western Michigan University. Washe was suspended from the university hockey team late that month. Washe played for the Storm from 2015-2017, before being traded and going to Western Michigan University.

The university of Kearney held it’s commencement ceremony on Friday. Nearly 700 graduates attended the ceremony along with a tightly packed crowd. Dawson Kouma from Dwight, who received a bachelors in Aviation said it was a long road to get there, and the ceremony was the payoff at the end.

Elm Creek Public Schools broke ground Friday for a new elementary school. The new facility will feature state of the art classrooms, a technical education lab, and other improvements.
