It’s called ‘Alone‘ – I watch it for free on the ROKU channel. It’s a History Channel Show. Technically a ‘Reality‘ show but there’s no camera crew. All of the footage is shot by contestants with supplied cameras. Here’s the synopsis:
Alone follows the self-documented daily struggles of 10 individuals as they try to survive alone in the wild for as long as possible using a very limited amount of survival equipment…the participants are isolated from each other and all other humans…they are completely alone! (Contestants are dropped off far enough apart to ensure that they will not come in contact with one another).
Note: They have the option to “tap out” at any time by using a provided emergency satellite phone to call for rescue.
The contestant who remains the longest wins $500,000. I’m watching season 1 and the contestants are dropped off in Vancouver Island, off Canada’s Pacific Coast.
I am completely captivated by this show and impressed by many of the inventive skills displayed by the contestants and their difference in styles. Entertaining? absolutely! and the show gives me a finer appreciation for EVERY single thing I have.
