HEALTH & FITNESS: Are You Too Old to Shovel Snow?
Now that winter is really setting in, you probably have your boots, shovel and rock salt at the ready. But should you really clear the snow or find someone younger to do it?

Dr. Barry Franklin says if you’re 45 or older, it’s probably time to delegate. He says that shoveling is a “perfect storm” of factors that lead to heart attacks.

And a 2010 study says that about 11,500 people per year wind up in the ER from shoveling-related issues. More than half of those are soft-tissue injuries like a pulled back muscle. But around 100 people a year die from heart attacks brought on by the exertion from shoveling. (USA Today)

My advice is to get a good snowblower…10 minutes later, you’re done.
Bring on summertime!
