The Queen’s Gambit. I absolutely loved this series. There are only 7 episodes and I loved everyone of them. It’s a very interesting story of a young girl who becomes fascinated by the game of chess and just so happens to become a prodigy. I don’t think you need to understand the game of chess to get wrapped up in this story.
It’s all fictional but it is inspired by real-life events. I was taught to set up the chess board with the dark square in the lower right hand corner. What I learned from The Queen’s Gambit is that I have been setting up the board incorrectly for almost 50 years…and that I have a new fave: Anya Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy.
Awesome, complete, compelling, interesting and smart. Watch it and let me know what you think.
