KGFW Sports – White Team Features Heisman Trophy Winners

The white team roster for Saturday’s simulated Red-White virtual spring game is now set. The offense is highlighted by a pair of Heisman Trophy winners, Eric Crouch will be the quarterback, with Johnny Rodgers listed as one of the wide receivers. Rodgers is joined at the wide out spot by Stanley Morgan Jr., the program’s first wide receiver to hit the 1,000-yard mark in a single season. The white team’s backfield includes Ahman Green and Jeff Kinney at running back and Cory Schlesinger at fullback. Matt Herian was selected as the team’s tight end. The offensive line features Will Shields and Dean Steinkuhler at guard, with Dave Rimington at center. The tackles are Kelvin Clark and Daryl White. Nate Swift is the offense’s all-purpose player. The specialist group features DeJuan Groce on returns, with Sam Foltz handling punting duties and Alex Henery handling kickoffs and placekicking duties. The white team’s 4-3 defense features a pair of finalists for the Heisman Trophy. Willie Harper and Broderick Thomas are the defensive ends, with Thomas also listed as an outside linebacker. The defensive tackles are Ndamukong Suh and Rich Glover. The white team’s linebackers are Ed Stewart, Lavonte David and Carlos Polk. The defensive backfield features some of the top Husker defensive backs of the 1990s and early 2000s. The cornerbacks are Fabian Washington and Ralph Brown, with Mike Minter and Mike Brown serving as the team’s safeties.
